Elmer Carter III is a Bay Area cellist and educator known for his expressive, collaborative musicianship. He earned an Advanced Certificate and a Master of Music from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. His performance experience includes appearances with the San Francisco Symphony, San Francisco Philharmonic, Fort Smith Symphony, and collaborations with the Kronos Quartet. A recipient of the Denis de Coteau Fellowship with the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra, he is a cofounder of Mosaic Strings, an active freelance performer, and has 1.5 years of teaching experience through private instruction and El Sistema.
