Luis A. Garay

saxophone, flute

Luis is a Bay Area Native that has worked with and been taught by a variety of well known performers, as well as going to SF State for the Bachelors of Music: Jazz Program.  He brings a host of proven techniques for saxophone performance that is not only educational to provide excellence in performance, but as well an atmosphere of fun to bring out as much passion in the student for music.

Luis has taught independently since 2010 as well as private lessons at Heriz since 2018. The lessons are designed to methodically teach important aspects of music education as well as a firm foundation in music theory, ear training and embouchure training (techniques that stem from Joe Allard’s teaching from the Juliard School of music – taught from the lineage of Victor Moroscco).  Most importantly, the student is heard and each lesson is adjusted to fit the students needs and/or desire in what music they wish to perform.
